In re Puerto Rican Cabotage Antitrust Litigation
Defendants Crowley Maritime Corp. and Crowley Liner Services (“Crowley”) entered into a settlement agreement with Plaintiffs in In re Puerto Rican Cabotage Antitrust Litigation, which alleges price fixing by Jones Act shipping companies for ocean shipping services between the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Under the settlement agreement, which is subject to court approval, Crowley has agreed to pay $13.75 million and to certain base-rate freezes. The rate freezes enable Crowley customers to avoid rate increases for a two-year period following the effective date of the settlement. Heins Mills & Olson is co-lead counsel for Plaintiffs.
