Behrend v. Comcast Corp.

The Third Circuit affirmed a class certification order in an antitrust case against Comcast on August 23, 2011. The case involves claims that Comcast violated sections 1 and 2 of the Sherman Act by acquiring and swapping competitor cable companies in the Philadelphia area. Plaintiffs allege that Comcast's acquisitions and swaps allowed Comcast to overcharge its cable subscribers.

The court's holding affirms the district court's order recertifying the Philadelphia class under the Third Circuit's Hydrogen Peroxide standards.
