Barbara is an officer of the firm. She has a broad range of experience in civil litigation matters, including handling commercial litigation and consumer fraud claims. Barbara has been involved in all aspects of the litigation and appellate process, and has participated in several significant trials and appeals involving cases of first impression.
Barbara has been named a "Super Lawyer" and a "Rising Star" by Minnesota Law & Politics, recognitions based on attorney polling across Minnesota. She is admitted to practice in the State of Minnesota, the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Eighth and Tenth Circuit. Barbara is a member of the Minnesota State, Hennepin County, and American Bar Associations, the American Association for Justice, and the Public Justice Foundation. She has authored several articles and chapters for publications, and has spoken at a number of legal education seminars on litigation topics.
Barbara is currently working on, or has recently been involved in, several class actions, including In re Publication Paper Antitrust Litigation (MDL No. 1631 D. Conn.) (price-fixing claims against paper manufacturers); In re Universal Service Fund Telephone Billing Practices Litigation (MDL No. 1468 D. Kan.) (consumer fraud and antitrust claims against AT&T, MCI and Sprint for USF telephone charges); In re Puerto Rican Cabotage Antitrust Litigation (MDL No. 1960 D.P.R.) (antitrust claims against the largest providers of domestic ocean shipping between the mainland U.S. and Puerto Rico); In re Activated Carbon-Based Hunting Clothing Marketing and Sales Practices Litigation (MDL No. 2059 D. Minn.) (consumer fraud claims against A.L.S. Enterprises, Cabela's, and Gander Mountain for misrepresentations about their “Scent-Lok” products); Katz v. Fidelity National Title Insurance Co. (N.D. Ohio) (antitrust claims against the largest title insurers in Ohio and the United States for fixing and controlling the price of title insurance in Ohio); McCray v. Fidelity National Title Insurance Co. (D. Del.) (price-fixing claims against the largest title insurers in Delaware); Glenz v. Sharp Electronics Corp., (D.N.J.) (consumer fraud and breach of warranty in the sale of DLP Projector lamps); In re TFT-LCD (Flat Panel) Antitrust Litigation (MDL No. 1827 N.D. Cal.) (price-fixing claims against producers of Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Displays); In re AOL Time Warner, Inc. Securities Litigation (S.D.N.Y.) (securities fraud claims against AOL and Time Warner on behalf of shareholders) and In re Pharmaceutical Industry Average Wholesale Price Litigation (D. Mass.) (price-fixing, RICO and other claims against pharmaceutical companies on behalf of consumers, self-insured employers, health and welfare plans, health insurers and other end payors).
